Cool Things for Cool People: October 2024

Cool Things for Cool People: October 2024

September came and went by so fast I didn’t even have time to put together a cool things for cool people post! But, I’m hoping to make up for this with an extra spooky post of extra cool things for the Halloweeny season. Let’s go!

Wander around my spooky VR gallery and immerse yourself in “Ghosts”

Screenshot of a VR gallery with a blue avatar standing in the middle.

A few years back, I put together this VR gallery of my artwork series “Ghosts”. The VR environment doesn’t need any sort of special equipment to visit (you can use your phone or web browser to check it out!) but it’s very cool to display these works in a 3D immersive space, and do some neat frame-breaking things with them. Check it out on Framevr.io.

Bad Influence takes things a step… Well, not too far

Two people with their arms crossed over their chests with the words "Bad Influence" over the top.

Started in 2019, Bad Influence is a labor of love ongoing web comic written and illustrated by artist Loreli. Here’s what they have to say about it:

Do the end justify the means? The crew of the Crow & Lyre tavern absolutely think so. Sometimes when the system is stacked against you, you break the system. Each crew member is equipped with their own special abilities and they’ll have to work together to get the job done. Tassera leads the crew and keeps the nosy Detective Vale from getting too close. Except, they have a history and while Vale may not get close to solving the case, could he be getting too close to Tass?

A woman holding a lantern walking down a creepy foggy street. Words overtop read "AdorkaStock & SamBeAwesome Frankenstock Challenge Pack"

AdorkaStock and SamBeAwesome teamed up to put together this artist pack of references that has some figurative references, and some locations as well. Put them together to create a truly monstrous (positive) work! Repost on social media with the hashtag #frankenstock to get reshared by both creators! The pack is free for a limited time. Get it right on Ko-Fi!
