Gallery of Nightmares Portfolio

Brief

Client wanted a website to host his new project in which he would be presenting his artworks as a sort of haunted dark art "Gallery", which he would then write stories about and deliver them orally, via social media, and through other methods. He called this presentation the "Gallery of Nightmares" and needed a landing page befitting of the theoretical space. The client trusted me to envision a home for these works that would fit the dark art theme and vibe of the stories. I had wanted to present the works as if the visitor to the site is walking through a physical gallery space and can visit each wing. We began worked where he was currently situated, in SquareSpace, but found it was not up for the envisioned task, so we ended up migrating to WordPress, which was more than capable of handling this site. Using a mix of sliders, query blocks, and some other methods, we were able to programmatically present the works so they look like they are all framed, and look like they're physically hanging on a wall. In addition we can easily embed content from YouTube and elsewhere to supplement the portfolio items on the page.
