Aimee Cozza – Owner

Foundation Web Design & Development is one person — me, Aimee Cozza. Though I often write with a royal “we”, it is but a single humble human creating these robust yet minimal websites for artists, businesses, and shop owners alike. I am a web enthusiast with an eye for design who builds on the open source WordPress.org platform. I would be happy to help you develop the website of your dreams!

Who am I to help? Let me explain — Back in the young days of the internet, during the nineties and early two-hundreds, I designed and created a plethora of websites dedicated to various fandoms, ideas, thoughts, and more, including some small businesses. Whether it was my love for Sailor Moon propelling me into making a magical girl-esque website, or the necessity for a photographer’s portfolio, I’ve done dirty work in HTML and CSS since I was a young pre-teen. There’s nothing I enjoy more than getting lost in a good project. I’ve always enjoyed building websites, and now I’m thrilled to pass my passion off to you.

Behind this pure passion for bug-squashing and graphic design, I also have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in illustration and several years of working with, under, and alongside others to create and maintain hundreds of WordPress powered websites. I have also authored hundreds of pieces of self-credited and ghost-written content like landing pages, service pages, and blog posts, including how-to and DIY tutorials on getting the most out of your WordPress installation. I am also a repository-listed plugin author of the Simple NoAI & NoImageAI plugin and a former NH WordPress Meetup co-organizer.

I love sci-fi and tech. Some of my favorite sci-fi fandoms are IPs like Blade Runner, Deus Ex, Detroit: Become Human, Terminator, The Matrix, Asimov’s imaginings in The Robots Series and Foundation, Dark, Astroboy (Mighty Atom), Ghost in the Shell, Love Death + Robots, Severance, Tron, Trigun, Disco Elysium. I also enjoy thrilling IPs like Our Flag Means Death, Hannibal, Claudio Sanchez’s (ask me about Coheed & Cambria) works, Sailor Moon, She-Ra, Steven Universe. What I can’t stop quoting: It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, What We Do In The Shadows, I Think You Should Leave.

Cremini – Assistant

Aimee’s newest assistant Cremini provides all the same emotional support and assistance as Portobello, but with 10x the noise. She is incredibly adorable and enjoying being a pet for the first time in her life.

Interests & Inspirations

Howling, eating, peeing in the snow, destroying Portobello’s toys, bones, curling up in a tiny ball, sun beams.

Dexter – Assistant, Local Irritant (In memorium)

Aimee’s assistant Dexter is here to provide emotional support, generally be all around cute, remind her when it’s time to eat or go for walkies.

Interests & Inspirations

Barking, small animals, eating dirt, eating trash, searching for crumbs, making nests, standing outside on a windy day, digging holes.

Our desire to do better is deep rooted in our morals

Being a Community Player

Being a business in a community means giving back to your local, surrounding community where possible. That’s why we support our local businesses and do what we can to help them out, including purchasing hosting that is hosted right here in New Hampshire. Our involvement with community projects like the ongoing Salem Dog Park, the Cat Alley restoration project, the Salem Communications Committee, and For Goodness Cakes means we’re serious when we say we aim to give back to our local town.

For Goodness Cakes

I am a For Goodness Cakes volunteer. This organization matches volunteers to make and hand-deliver celebration cakes to children in foster care and youth overcoming adversity on their special day.

Holiday Card Donations

Every year since 2015 I have sent holiday cards to various places during the holidays, including taking part in the DeviantArt Holiday Card Project, Cards for Hospitalized Kids, as well as sending holiday cards to military individuals deployed overseas.

Hat Creation & Donation for Care to Knit

I made 27 hand-knit hats of various sizes and sent them to Care to Knit, Inc in December of 2021.

Various colorfully knit hats laid out on a rug.

Artist Series Calendar for WIRES

I put together an artist calendar in 2020, with all proceeds going to benefit WIRES to help Australian wildlife displaced by the devastating wildfires of 2019-2020.

Environmentally Better Websites

We’re well aware of the impact that excessive data usage can have on our environment. That’s why we’re insistent on de-bloating websites, removing unused data, and slimming down, as well as recommending and using carbon-neutral hosting.

Equity & Inclusiveness on the Web

We want to make the world a more inclusive place, and that’s why we base our recommendations on user experience, usability, and accessibility. We intend to make the web more fair when we can, and make recommendations when possible with this very tenet in mind.
